New Black History Month Art Show
A new art exhibition, curated by Giles Speid and coinciding with Black History Month, is now available to view at Westminster City Council鈥檚 headquarters. Speid, Team Manager 鈥 North West Team, Environment, Climate and Public Protection at Westminster City Council, put the exhibition together with the support of cultural production and development organisation Creative Resilience.
The exhibition, which consists of the works of eight artists who have exhibited across Europe, the US and Africa, correlates with Black History Month鈥檚 theme of 鈥榬eclaiming narratives鈥. And follows a 2021 exhibition of the works of the artist Sokari Douglas-Camp CBE, also organised by Speid.
According to Speid, 鈥淚t has taken several months to put together this exhibition which is ordinarily displayed at some to the best known galleries in London. Some of the exhibits have been displayed at the Smithsonian, St George鈥檚 Chapel Windsor, the Royal Academy and a number of fine art galleries in London.鈥
When and Where?
The exhibition runs from 16 October 2024 until 31st January 2025, at 64 Victoria Street, London SE16 6QP. Viewings are free and can be booked through appointment with [email protected]
