鈥淭oday鈥檚 budget has some good news for consumers with plans to tackle unexpected fees likely to focus on subscription traps and wider issues around misleading and confusing contracts.
鈥淲e understand the government could introduce new powers, which will be extended to trading standards services, to fine the worst offenders.
鈥淭rading standards is already working hard to tackle these issues but after staff numbers fell by over 50%, the government must address capacity if it expects new legislation to be enforced.鈥
