This free webinar will help businesses understand the forthcoming legislation including the ban on products classed as single use vapes.
It will explain what is a single use vape, how the market is changing and the new style products being introduced.ÌýIts aim is to ensure businesses understand the products that they will be able to continueÌýselling after the 1st June 2025 and which products must be removed from sale, the actionsÌýthat business will be expected to take at the point of the ban and requirements once the banÌýis in place.
It will also cover other legislation in pipeline and what we expect may happen

Who is this Course Suitable for :
This course is aimed at all Businesses involved in the sale of Vapes and Nicotine products.ÌýAlthough it will be focused on English businesses, the types of product which are no longerÌýallowed to be sold will be the same across all 4 nations – the only differences will be in the penalties imposed.
Sessions will be Delivered by :
David works in a central London borough leading locally and regionally on Tobacco Alcohol and Vapes as well as his 51ºÚÁÏ role. He has been active in the field of Nicotine products including vapes for over a decade and has provided training and guidance for Trading Standards Staff and Businesses for a number of years. He works alongside the MHRA on new and novel products and is a member of the expert panel on vapes.
Kate is Co-ordinator for Trading Standards North West and a Lead Officer for Tobacco and Vaping for the 51ºÚÁÏ. She supports the delivery of Operation Joseph through National Trading Standards to tackle the supply of illegal vapes, and sales of vapes to children and sits on the Vaping Expert Panel. She is responsible for co-ordinating activity and facilitating strategic development across the 24 Local Authority Trading Standards Services in the North West as well as providing support to Trading Standards Officers across the country in delivering regulation around tobacco and vaping.

The course will provide information and guidance for business owners and managersÌýon the single use vape ban, which will come into force on 1st June 2025. How this willÌýaffect products currently in the marketplace, how businesses will be expected to deal with excess stock and the responsibilities of businesses once the ban becomesÌýeffective.
Once completed, attendees will :
- learn about new products that are coming into the market, the types of products and innovations that the industry is introducing due to the ban. How these products should be treated with regard to the Waste electrical equipment regulations, and the responsibility of business selling products caught under the regulations
- understand what to check for when looking to stock these new products to ensure all stock is compliant and that business due diligence is retained.
- discuss the possible changes that may come out of the Tobacco and Vapes bill pending its passage through parliament, how this may change the appearance ofÌý vapes in the future, the types of vapes available and how these may need to be sold. The possible introduction of registration/licensing schemes will also be discussed.
